Thanks John I know how to put a modem into bridged mode I was just inquisitive about the nuance between bridged and 'PPPoE pass-through' I believe the the latter is a kind of semi-bridged mode Furthermore some modems in bridged mode are now longer accessible via layer three which seems logical to me; others however like Zyxel
you can still configure the modem in bridge mode and still have the router establish the PPPoE connection but you need the modem to do the modulation / demodulation part
You will find the answer on setup

Enter your ISP's username and password details here
It appeared in 1999, in the context of the boom of DSL as the solution for tunneling packets over the DSL connection to the ISP's IP network, and from there to the rest of the Internet

Connect the DSL interface to the MODEM po rt of external splitter with a DSL line cable
The DrayTek Vigor 2710 is also an integrated network access device that not only offers rich functionality with up to 24Mbps bandwidth
The router has 8 WAN interface, including 2x 10G SFP+ for fiber connectivity, 2x 2
Note that MR devices themselves cannot currently use PPPoE as a connection type
To do that, connect a computer directly to the Vigor 130 modem's LAN port and the PC should receive an IP address in the 192
To do this, you will need: 1
Click "Internet" in the FRITZ!Box user interface
I had a working setup until i fucked up my config and had to do it from scratch (no backups)
